My Jalan-jalan @ Papar & Kinarut

Date : 31st August 2018 (Wednesday)

Moving on to the next destination. I'm still upload a blogpost entry of us at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. (Blogging can be very tiring, especially when you have so many posts that are yet to published).

31st August is Malaysia's Independence Day, so why not we take a break and do fun things with family?

We were too bored to go window-shopping on classy shopping malls. Be it claimed to be the largest or highest or whatsoever shopping malls like Imago, Suria Sabah, 1 Borneo or even Mega Long and ITCC don't seem mesmerising to us anymore. You can see there are so many franchises open everywhere. All things are just the same. Even you can recognise the same Pazze-branded of black/white polka dots T-shirt with collar at any Giant stores. #roasted

Dad always wanted to go Beaufort, which takes approximately 90 kilometers to there from home. Every time there is a time for us to travel, we merely just decide to go travel to Beaufort. But never sampai one, Dad said he's tired for long journey.

This time, will we made it to Beaufort? Yes? No?

Nope, we ended up reaching at Papar only.
Anyway, hello Papar...
Papar squads, where you at huehuehue?

FIRST DESTINATION : Papar Riverfront

We reached here about 12pm. So here we are, walking around here since we never make our steps into this place right? Expedisi di bawah mentari yang teramat terik~

" Something rarely happen, must be done.
Or else, it will rarely be happened.
And you will feel undone. "

Since it's public holiday, all shops were not open.

It was peaceful at here, not really people are here besides us. There's a couple sitting and looking at the river. Erm, I don't know what are they looking at... searching for serenity maybe? #sorry4mysarcasm

Taking photos is a proof to proof that we reached here.

MERDEKA (as in Hakka, 没低价 read as mao-det-ga)
Which means, nothing is cheap during the Independence Day!

SECOND DESTINATION : Honey Jam cafe

An always place for us to lepak on any hot summer days whenever we reached Papar. We enjoyed their soft-shaved ice creams, especially the Green Tea flavoured one! Aircond. Always in cool temperature. [+1]
Other than that, the cafe also served eggies, or egg waffle served together with a scoop of ice cream and drizzles of chocolate syrup! Mmph... yummy~ However on this visit, we ordered the Super Cheese, want to try something different mahh...

Matcha / Green Tea Ice Cream  ( Normal Cup : RM3.00 )

Super Cheese Waffle ( RM4.50 )

THIRD DESTINATION : Beringgis Beach Resort

Dad started to complain tired already after driving for so long. We turned back our route back home. It has been numerous time we laid our steps to this place.

FOURTH DESTINATION : Borneo Paradise Resort

Give me two sentences to describe this place. It's a deserted place. There is beauty nature that you can see inside this place.

FIFTH DESTINATION : Langkah Syabas Beach Resort

Got plenty number of tourists stayed at here. It's a good alternate option instead picking Beringgis Beach Resort. Two sentences again for me to describe this place. It's beautiful here. For me, it may be lack of privacy since the rooms are just like next to each other. As I'm gonna said again: Opinions are subjective.

SIXTH DESTINATION : Seaside Travelers Inn

Erm... quite difficult to access there. Not a good choice for a stay-cation.

EVENTH DESTINATION : Kinarut old shops

Locals selling variety of fruits during the Malaysia's Independence Day... I don't know if it's common or not. We just walk there and see-see. No photo captured.

EIGHTH DESTINATION : Restoran Al Mamak

We saw a lot of new and beautiful houses and shops. We roamed around and we found Mr D.I.Y. and Gmart shops. But before that, we had our early-dinner at Restoran Al Mamak. Nasi briyani and roti canai kosong. Friendly service, the waiter reheated our ordered nasi briyani using microwave. Clean environment. A lot better compared to other typical mamak shops.

NINTH DESTINATION : Mr D.I.Y Kinarut

If not mistaken, it just newly open. And it's fantastic to know that it has two floors (Ground floor and 1st floor, I confused and I sure you all reading also confused.) One floor is already double the area of Mr D.I.Y at Mega Long's 1st floor.

I bought a clear reusable stamp, something I'm gonna do an investment for my hobby: the bullet-journalling.

TENTH DESTINATION : Home Sweet Home

Since it's Friday, everyone continue their busy routines. Prepare announcement slides and get ready to go church at night.

My Playtime at Polumpung Melangkap View Camp Site (PMVCS) + Mamam

Date : 22nd August 2018 (Wednesday)

Alright, so let's just skip the "Trip to Korea 2018" hype for a moment to let this blog post to be published. [ There are a lot more overdue blog posts yet to be published... #perfectiongivestrialstoperfectionist ]

During the Hari Raya Haji public holiday, we have decided to visit Polumpung Melangkap View Camp Site located at Kota Belud. I have seen quite people who uploaded photos of them playing water and beautiful scenery of our Sabahan proudly nature-beauty: The Mount Kinabalu. Surely, you can take Instagrammable photos to the model wannabes.

Nice right?
This photo was shared at its official Facebook Page.

废话不多说,我们 let's go !

We actually came here quite early, almost to 12 noon, and the Sun shines brightly. It was unbearably hot, I told you...

At that time, there still have a few parking spaces to be parked. However, the parking spaces are quite sandy-muddy and limited tbh. I can say that the parking spaces are like their own private residential land... so there you are, the empty places for you to park your car.

When it comes to the term: limited spaces of parking spaces, during the peak hours (late noon ~ 3:00pm-5:00pm), you will likely need to be patient as other cars will try to reverse-park their car. If you got no parking space for your car, then you might put your car laying on the road which is quite small for big vehicles (like Land Cruiser, Hilux etc.) to cross the road.

This is the place to pay for your visit into the Polumpung Melangkap View Camp Site.

Entrance Fee for local Malaysian:
Adult = RM3.00
Children = RM2.00
0-7 years & above 60 years = Free

Entrance Fee for Foreigners:
Adult = RM12.00
Children = RM8.00
0-7 years & above 60 years = Free

Not to say that "I just want to go inside see-see" defines that you don't need to pay. Hello orang, ini bukan hak kerajaan tau. Ini diorang sendiri set up buat begini guna duit sendiri k. Bukan bilang kamu langsung tidak perlu bayar kalau kamu tidak berkelah atau berkhemah di situ. 3 ringgit sama 2 ringgit ni apalah skarang ini...

Btw, sistem pembayaran tiket patut dipertingkatkan. Friendliness is only an extra point. Takkan lahh mau let go dua tiga ringgit tuu saja? "Sikit-sikit lama-lama jadi bukit" ; Ungkapan si isteri yang turun dari takhta yang tersohor dalam sebuah negara pada tahun 2018.

At my first glance, I felt that this place is just like a typical construction site. Full of gravels, and then I saw something construction vehicle (I don't remember what was that, and never know any names about construction vehicles. So, I went to Google and found some familiar ones with names. Example: Excavator, Bulldozer, Dump truck & Road roller).

Looks like it's just a huge empty space with lots of stones. We saw many people built canopies and tents. I felt so weird like what's on earth we're actually doing at here? Everyone is staring at us like how clueless we're upon reaching there. They all (I mean those whom had stayed there a day or two. Or anyone with camping experiences) were like really know and understand what to do on their trip to this place.

We're thinking about belongings (since we have no valid reason to be at here). We're thinking about how we're gonna have our picnicking time (since we brought foods and drinks). So, we decided to rent a canopy, so that we have our not-so personal space to be sheltered.

Cashing-out another RM15.00 for a portable 10' x 10' canopy.

I was stationed to take care of our belongings inside the canopy. Mum and Akak went for walk to the river. Dad was wandering around the surrounding. I felt discomfort, looking so many people were BBQ-ing and partying like indeed enjoying their trip without bringing any stress. Maybe it's because I was a city-person, and I didn't make use with this kind of chill environment. Anyway, this is my own opinion. It's subjective.

While looking at my circumference, I saw a group of boys on my northeast. They were taking photos together on top the rock. I can feel the burning spirit of togetherness the moment when they're standing on that big rock. I'm so touched. Yeah~ 🔥

They like to travel, how could we left them at home right? 😂😂

Dad came back from wandering. Mum on her half-way to the river called me to follow them together. I left my dad. Now, it is Dad's time to take care of our belongings.

Mum and Akak played for a short period on the water. Mum thought of bringing all the things to the nearby riverside, since Dad was alone at the canopy. Akak and I went back to the canopy and asked Dad to come along.

The rocks are slippery. 小心啊~ 💦

An evidence to proof that Dad is actually a bit boring while at the canopy. He secretly took photo of us from far.

Next is the two photos taken by mum, while we're otw to tell Dad come over and bring along our belongings.

Dad is coming, our important things are carried and put near the riverside. Aye, we're ready to play water! But Dad is busy with taking photos.

Alala... macam duyung pulak yang di belakang tuu~ Kaki panjang² eheheh...

Hmm, and now... it's Akak's turn to grab the phone and take photos. Dad goes for the real swimming time.

The winner of Asia's Next Top Model Season 6 goes to... uhuhuh~

Dad stacked the stones away... so that the surrounding water becomes deeper. So rajin... got someone also following what Dad was doing. Hahahah~

I forgot to take off my watch during the swim and my watch was dead. ⌚💔

We took our last photos before departing... going back to the canopy place. Changed our attires at provided "bath place".

Just to say: We take turns to change our attires... Me and Dad went to that "bath place" first, while Mum and Akak taking care of our belongings inside the canopy. Soon after that, it's their turn to get changed.

We were lucky, to be honest... We did play the water for more than one hour happily albeit had no chance to witness the glorious of Mt. Kinabalu. I played the water until I was shivering in the last few minutes before we left the scene. I would have to take back my first negative impressions onto this place. I entirely forgot that I was not make use with the environment before the playtime.

Back to reality... No longer when mum and Akak went to change attires, the rain comes. The people of PMVCS alarmed them (those who're still at the water playing) to get back to land. Afraid 山水 (or water fall from mountain) come.

We're ready to head back home. But before that, we stopped by at typical sinalau bakas shop...
